Grammy-Award-winning Russian chamber orchestra Moscow Soloists is celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2012. Its founder, conductor and pre-eminent viola player of the modern age Yuri Bashmet, who is described by The Times as “without doubt, one of the world's greatest living musicians”, gave his instrument a new prominence in musical life. The distinguished cellist Mischa Maisky is joining the orchestra on their jubilee tour as another soloist. Program: Schubert-Mahler, Haydn, Tchaikovsky, Brahms.
